Defending champion Rafael Nadal<\/strong> will miss US Open this year because he is trying to prepare for his favorite Grand Slam, Roland Garros<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six-time US Open champion Serena Williams<\/strong> is the second favorite for rising the trophy this year after huge young star Naomi Osaka<\/strong>. Karolina Pliskova<\/strong> is the third favorite and she is chasing her first semifinal in her career.

Last year winner Bianca Andreescu<\/strong>, unfortunately, is not playing this year.
The Canadian tennis star tweeted Aug. 13 that she was withdrawing from the tournament despite previously committing.
“After many discussions with those closest to me, I have made the difficult decision not to return to New York this year,” she wrote in a post on social media. “I have taken this step in order to focus on my match fitness and ensure that I return ready to play at my highest level. The US Open victory last year has been the high point of my career thus far and I will miss not being there. “

Who airs the US Open live in UK and Germany?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The US Open <\/strong>Tennis Championship will be shown live and exclusively on Amazon in the UK until 2022. The streaming service is taking a major leap into sport in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland by acquiring the rights to the Grand Slam tournament. The deal includes live coverage and on-demand match highlights, plus other content to Prime Video members at no additional cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore Eurosport<\/strong> has renewed its partnership with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) to secure the rights for the US Open Grand Slam tennis tournament for a further five years. The pan-european broadcaster presents the US Open live on TV, Eurosport Player, Eurosport App, and Eurosport.de – free-to-air in more than 50 countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
