The WTA Finals 2019 women tournament will be from 27th October to 3rd November in Shenzhen, China.
The tournament, also known as Shiseido WTA Finals Shenzhen, is the 49th edition of the singles event and the 44th edition of the doubles competition.
After a year of matches and battles, eight top-ranked players have earned their rights to play in Shenzhen.
The WTA’s elite eight were drawn into two groups for round robin singles play at the inaugural Shiseido WTA Finals Shenzhen, and the year’s four Grand Slam champions were split evenly amongst the two groups.
Ashleigh Barty, French Open champion, headlines the Red Group, followed by Petra Kvitova, Belinda Bencic and Naomi Osaka, Australian Open winner.
In Purple Group is Karolina Pliskova with four singles titles this year, US Open champion Bianca Andreescu, Simona Halep and Elina Svitolina.
While Kvitova and Svitolina already celebrated at WTF Finals, this is a debut for Bencic and Andreescu.
The doubles draw, meanwhile, has pitted top seeds and US Open champions Elise Mertens and Aryna Sabalenka with French Open winners Timea Babos and Kristina Mladenovic in the Red Group.
Latisha Chan and Chan Hao-ching are in that poll as well as Anna-Lena Groenefeld and Demi Schuurs.
The Purple Group gathers Hsieh Su-wei and Wimbledon winner Barbora Strycova, Gabriela Dabrowski and Xu Yifan, Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova, Samantha Stosur and Zhang Shuai.
