When does the NBA season start and where to watch it

October 8, 2018 • Tags: #basketballtv #liveonsatbasketball

The NBA is back! The first preseason games have already been played and it will not be long before the regular season begins on October 16. And this season has plenty to offer: Will LeBron James lead the Lakers back to glory after they haven’t qualified for the last five playoffs? Will DeMarcus Cousins make Golden State even more invincible? Will James Harden repeat his spectacular perfomances from last season?

All these questions and more will be answered from October 16 onwards. The season opener will be the clash of the playoffs contenders Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics. The game starts at 1am (GMT) / 2am (CET) on October 17.

Where to watch NBA in live stream or on TV

After BT Sport lost the broadcasting rights for NBA, the only way to watch NBA in the UK at the moment is via the NBA League Pass (https://www.nba.com/leaguepass). You can subscribe to the official NBA live stream on a daily, monthly or yearly basis. NBA is still in negotations with other British broadcasters, however an agreement has not been achieved yet. NBA fans in Germany are better off. DAZN offers live streams for more than 200 games of the season in its program.

Furthermore SPOX (http://www.spox.com/de/sport/ussport/nba/live-stream.html) shows a free live stream of one Sunday game every weekend. On television, the games are broadcasted by Sport1 US (9.0°E). You can find more detailed broadcasting information in the Sporteventz app (available on iOS and Android) or on sporteventz.com when the NBA season starts. There we will also keep you updated on the broadcasting situation in the UK.
