The 54th Super Bowl is scheduled for tonight, February 2. at 18:30 (GMT) / 3.2. 00:30 (CET). Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers are playing at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida for the title of NFL champion for the 2019 season, 100th NFL season.

The Super Bowl is, as usual, taking place one week after the Pro Bowl in Orlando, and two weeks after the AFC and NFC championship games. After the Super Bowl, NFL fans are turning to the next event – NFL Combine in Indianapolis.

Chiefs vs 49ers

With a game that includes the most explosive offense in the NFL against one of the best defenses in the league, everyone is expecting an NFL classic. Although the Chiefs didn’t have the best numbers during the season, they have eclipsed 35 points in the playoffs. San Francisco led all playoff teams in rushing yards after ranking among the NFL’s top running teams in the regular season.

For the 49ers this will be the seventh Super Bowl, while the Chiefs are coming to the final first time in 50 years.

If San Francisco wins, they will tie with the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots with 6 victories – the highest number in NFL history.

Although the Chiefs didn’t have the best numbers during the season, they have eclipsed 35 points in the playoffs and have three different players among the best at their position Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce. But, the 49ers, as it is known, thrive when they keep the ball on the ground, have seven players who have played in Super Bowl already.

The 2020 NFL league year begins March 18, a little more than a month after the 2019 season concludes with Super Bowl 54 in Miami.

The Vince Lombardy Trophy

The National Football League’s biggest trophy was named after Vince Lombardi, a five-time NFL-winning coach.

He shined in Green Bay Packers with whom he won five titles in seven years (1961-1967) and was known not just for his coaching skills but also in battling discrimination, championing equality and breaking down racial barriers.
